Android 3.0 release date

The Android 3.0 release date is currently unclear. The Motorola Xoom is already out in the US, although other hardware manufacturers say they're still waiting for Google to give them the all-clear to put their devices on the shelves.

Needless to say, the official, final release is just weeks away. And when that day comes, expect to see a flood of Android 3.0 tablets explode onto the market.

In 2008, we sat down with Erick Tseng, then a senior product manager at Google and the main point of contact for Android OS, for an article on Google research projects.

Curiously, Tseng never mentioned tablets, but he did talk about a new operating system that could work on many different types of computing devices. Tseng had an Android prototype phone he let us view over his shoulder.


Android 3.0 is an open source project helmed by Google. From all reports, the company doesn't make a great income from the operating system and plans to derive revenue the way they always do: from ads that appear when you search.

Developers gain full access to the code base and searchable documentation.

One of the main issues with Android early on was that the code is flexible enough to run on a variety of devices but the interface is designed for smartphones. Android 3.0 makes better use of the screen size for tablets.

For example, Gmail on a smartphone runs best in a vertical orientation so you can quickly scan through emails. On a tablet, Android 3.0 provides a way for the email client to run with your messages on the left and a preview pane on the right.

Seperti sudah diberitakan beberapa waktu lalu, kenaikan gaji PNS terbaru 2011 telah diatur dalam PP No.11 tahun 2011 tentang kenaikan gaji PNS yang besarnya antara 10 persen. Jika diakumulasi, oleh negara gaji PNS sudah naik 15 presen untuk tahun anggaran 2010 – 2011. Namun seperti biasa, kenaikan gaji ini selalu diumumkan jauh-jauh hari sehingga dengan cepat pasar merespon dengan kenaikan harga barang juga. Analisis Tingkat Kelulusan siswa SMP pada UN 2011

Masih bingung dengan kriteria kelulusan siswa SMP yang telah ditetapkan pemerintah beberapa waktu lalu? Hmm, sama dung. Pertama kali disosialisasikan ke sekolah, kriteria kelulusan siswa SMP yang secara kasar dihitung berdasarkan total Nilai Ujian Sekolah dan Nilai Ujian Nasional sedikit membingungkan. Namun, setelah ditelaah lebih mendalam, perhitungan-perhitungan ini makin njelimet dan ribet. Untuk mempermudah menganalisa point apa saja yang mempengaruhi nilai kelulusan siswa SMP ini, mari kita tengok bersama beberapa kaidah berikut ini:

1. Siswa dinyatakan LULUS jika Nilai Akhir yang dirata-rata tidak ada nilai 4 dan lebih besar atau sama dengan 5.5
2. Siswa dinyatakan LULUS jika Nilai Sekolah tidak ada nilai dibawah 6 dan berkelakuan BAIK.
3. Nilai Akhir adalah hasil 40% x Nilai Sekolah + 60% x Nilai UN
4. Nilai Sekolah adalah hasil 40% x Nilai rata-rata Raport Semester 1 sampai 5 + 60% x Nilai US

Memprediksi tingkat Kelulusan Siswa dan cara mengakalinya

Tugas guru memang berat, ditambah beban harus meluluskan siswa didiknya makin jadi puyengnya. Sebenarnya kalau mau jujur, sistem penilaian dan kriteria kelulusan yang sudah-sudah pun dapat dijadikan standar baku. Namun karena tuntutan dan tekanan dari atas bawah, sekolah lebih mementingkan kuantitas daripada kualitas lulusan. Akhirnya sekolah dan dewan guru lebih mementingkan “asal LULUS” bagi siswa-siswinya ketimbang hasil murni dari masa belajar mereka. Intervensi pemerintah dalam menentukan Standar Nilai Kelulusan juga dianggap jadi biang kerok carut marutnya dunia pendidikan di Indonesia.

Menyikapi maraknya gembar gembor masalah Intervensi tersebut, pemerintah mengenalkan sistem penilaian baru yang melibatkan sekolah dalam menentukan kelulusan siswanya. Dengan komposisi 40% Nilai dari Sekolah dan 60% Nilai Ujian Nasional pemerintah berpikir cukup untuk meredam aksi ribut-ribut. Meski begitu, kita ambil sisi positifnya saja, sistem yang ditawarkan pemerintah sudah cukup mewakili aspirasi tiap kalangan dan mudah-mudahan memiliki dampak pada peningkatan mutu pendidikan.

Dengan komposisi 40:60, maka mau tidak mau guru dan sekolah dituntut untuk meningkatkan KKM mata pelajaran mereka. Karena dengan hitung-hitungan diatas, sekolah yang telah melaksanakan KKM tinggi, bisa dipastikan siswanya akan LULUS dengan mudah. Dan sekolah yang menentukan KKM rendah, harus rela kerja bakti untuk meluluskan siswanya.

Jadi bagaimana mengakalinya?

Nilai yang masih bisa diolah (utak-atik) berdasarkan kaidah diatas adalah Nilai Ujian Sekolah (US). Karena nilai Raport Semester 1 sampai 5 tidak bisa diotak-atik lagi (kecuali guru/sekolah mau gotong royong ganti raport semua siswa kelas 9). Untuk nilai UN, silahkan utak atik untuk sekedar menganalisa siswa bapak / ibu lulus atau tidak. Untuk mempermudah prediksi, silahkan download analisis dan prediksi tingkat kelulusan siswa SMP menggunakan excel.
